Pitt TE Gavin Bartholomew Named Mackey Award Player of the Week

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Gavin Bartholomew opened the promising 2022 campaign with a disappointing performance - one catch for nine yards against West Virginia during Week 1. But the budding star tight end for the Pitt Panthers came alive the following week against Tennessee and it earned him national recognition.
Bartholomew, whose standout freshman year put him in contention for the John Mackey Award given to the best tight end in college football, led the Panthers in receiving and his play earned him Mackey Award Tight End of the Week honors.
He hauled in five catches for a career-high 84 yards and one long touchdown catch and run made possible by a hurdle on the sideline over Tennessee's last would-be tackler.
