Pitt Rival Adds Familiar Transfer QB

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Former Duke quarterback Riley Leonard is leaving the ACC but the Pitt Panthers might not have seen the last of him during his impressive college career.
Leonard has picked a new home after entering the transfer portal, making the jump from Duke to Notre Dame. 2024 could be his final season of college football, but he may stick around for another season after that and play against Pitt for the Irish in 2025.

Leonard battled valiantly to lead his team through a brutal schedule in 2023 and helped them earn Duke's highest AP Poll ranking (No. 16) since 1994. He's threw for 1,102 yards, rushed for 352 yards and scored seven total touchdowns while completing 57.9% of his passes before an ankle injury took the remainder of his season.
Leonard earned an All-ACC Honorable Mention for his efforts in 2022, a season during which he threw for 290 yards and scored four total touchdowns against Pitt in Pittsburgh in a narrow two-point loss for Duke.
Notre Dame is scheduled to visit Acrisure Stadium during the 2025 season, with an exact date and kickoff time to be announced.
