West Virginia Limiting Ticket Sales for Backyard Brawl

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers will travel south to Morgantown, West Virginia during Week 3 of the 2023 regular season to meet the Mountaineers in the renewal of the Backyard Brawl. It will mark the first time in a dozen years that this series has been played in the state of West Virginia and Mountaineer fans are certain to deliver a raucous atmosphere on par with the one Pitt fans created at Acrisure Stadium last September.
But fans hoping to attend the 106th meeting between Pitt and West Virginia will find that if they want to buy a ticket to the Backyard Brawl, they'll have to buy tickets to other Mountaineer home games as well. West Virginia is not offering single-game tickets to the Brawl, but fans can purchase either a Blue or Gold mini-packages that includes tickets to the Pitt game along with two others.
Pitt has employed a similar practice for marquee home games in the past against opponents like Penn State, Notre Dame and West Virginia and, as is often the case, fans from those schools have enjoyed poking fun at the Panthers for this not-so-transparent method of trying to get more people into the stands for other, less flashy games throughout the season.
