The last time the Seminoles traveled to Pittsburgh, it was Labor Day of 2013. Pitt played its first-ever ACC game against freshman phenom Jameis Winston, who was making his first collegiate start and it showed early on as the unranked Panthers jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
Winston and the then-No. 10 Seminoles eventually rallied for a 41-13 win behind 356 passing yards and four touchdowns from Winston before rolling to an undefeated season and national title.
Pitt owns a 6-4 edge in the all-time series against Florida State, including a 41-17 win down in Tallahassee in 2020 and victories in four of the last five meetings dating back to 1981.
This is just the third time the two teams have met as members of the ACC.
