PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers concluded the regular season on Saturday and will begin postseason play on Tuesday. The No. 11-seeded Panthers drew a couple of early first pitches for their two scheduled games this week at Truist Park in Charlotte, North Carolina.

As the 11th seed, Pitt was placed in a Pool B with second-seeded Lousiville and seventh-seeded Georgia Tech. They'll open the tournament against the Yellow Jackets on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and get right back at it 24 hours later for another 11 a.m. start against the Cardinals.

The teams with the best record in each of the four pools will advance to the single-elimination semifinals on Saturday. Should the Panthers advance that far, they'll have two days off in between the end of pool play and then. The championship game is on Sunday at noon.

The Panthers won two of three vs. Louisville inside the friendly confines of Charles L. Cost Field in Pittsburgh last month. They suffered a sweep at the hands of Georgia Tech this past weekend.

Pitt will need a stellar week in Charlotte if they want to better their distant odds of ending a 27-year NCAA Tournament drought. The Panthers limped to the finish in 2022, losing seven of their last eight games.

Both games against Louisville and Georgia Tech will be available to stream on ACC Network Extra.
