Pitt Loses Four-Star RB Commit to Syracuse

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers lost one of the more highly-rated players from its 2024 recruiting class a little more than a week before National Signing Day.
Four-star Pitt running back commit Yasin Willis took an official visit to Syracuse this past weekend to meet with newly-minted head coach Fran Brown and his coaching staff. That visit led to an eventual flip from the Panthers to the Orange.

Willis is rated as high as a four-star prospect by Rivals, who also has him pegged as the No. 1 player in the state of New Jersey. Three of the four other major recruiting services consider him a three-star player. He originally chose Pitt over the likes of Penn State, South Carolina, Michigan, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Louisville, West Virginia and others.
Willis rushed for more than 1,000 yards in both his sophomore and junior seasons and combined to score 26 touchdowns over that span. He finished his senior year with 567 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the way to first-team All-County honors.
