No. 1 Purdue basketball (13-1, 2-1 Big Ten) hits the road for a matchup with No. 24 Ohio State (10-3, 2-0) on Thursday night at Value City Arena. Here is our live blog, which will keep you up to date on all the news in real time, straight from press row.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The No. 1-ranked Purdue basketball team is on the road Thursday night for a matchup with No. 24 Ohio State, looking to get back in the win column following a home loss to Rutgers. 

The Boilermakers enter the matchup with a 13-1 overall record and sit at 2-1 in Big Ten play. They are just 4-14 all-time at Value City Arena but have won in three of their last four trips.

9:04 p.m. ET, FINAL — Purdue 71, Ohio State 69

9:03 p.m. ET — Fletcher Loyer nails a 3-pointer to put Purdue ahead 71-69. Ohio State has 6.4 seconds to work with after a timeout. 

9:01 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton gets a steal on the in-bounds pass, and after a timeout, Purdue has possession with 17.5 seconds to play down by one point. Zach Edey checking into the game. 

8:58 p.m. ET — Sean McNeil gets his first 3-pointer of the night, and it gives Ohio State a 69-66 lead. There are 40 seconds left on the clock and Purdue is 12-of-30 from the 3-point line. 

8:55 p.m. ET — Mason Gillis gets a look from the 3-point line that doesn't fall. Ohio State comes down with the rebound and calls for a timeout after crossing halfcourt. It's still tied 66-66 with just under a minute to play. 

8:48 p.m. ET – Ohio State pulls down an offensive rebound after a pair of free throws and calls a timeout with 1:53 left in the game. It's tied 66-66, and Purdue hasn't made a field goal in nearly three minutes. 

8:46 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton gets a charge call defending Brice Sensabaugh, who's had a sensational night for Ohio State. The freshman forward has 21 points to lead all scorers, but Morton is looking to limit his impact here in the final minutes. 

8:40 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — A missed opportunity for Ethan Morton, who travels on a fastbreak layup. Purdue leads 64-63 with 3:41 left to play. Morton has 10 points and is one of three Boilermakers in double figures. 

8:39 p.m. ET — Great ball movement for Purdue, and Fletcher Loyer continues to have a strong second half. He drills a 3-pointer and now has eight points on the night. 

8:36 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton in double figures for Purdue after knocking down his second 3-pointer of the game. Ohio State holding on to a narrow lead with less than six minutes to play. 

8:31 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Purdue and Ohio State are all tied up 58-58 with 7:08 left to play. The Boilermakers haven't connected on a shot from the field in nearly three minutes. 

8:26 p.m. ET – Huge shot for David Jenkins Jr. near the end of the shot clock. He's 3-of-3 from the 3-point line with nine points off the bench. 

8:22 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Fletcher Loyer needed to see a couple of shots fall. He has five points in the second half, and Purdue leads Ohio State 54-52 with 10:47 left to play. 

8:20 p.m. ET — Purdue had plenty of chances on the offensive end of the court to get something to fall, but its possession ended with Zach Edey being blocked and Brice Sensabaugh throwing down a huge dunk on the other end. 

8:15 p.m. ET — Fletcher Loyer finally gets a shot to fall. He hits on Purdue's ninth 3-pointer of the game. 

8:11 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Ohio State leads Purdue 46-45 with 15:17 left in the game. Braden Smith has found a rhythm in a hostile environment, leading all scorers with 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including three 3-pointers. 

8:06 p.m. ET — Five straight points for Purdue to open the second half as Zach Edey and Mason Gillis combine to take the lead. However, Ohio State responds with five straight points of their own to go ahead 41-38. 

7:49 p.m. ET, HALFTIME — Purdue caught fire to end the first half. After trailing Ohio State by as many as 12 points, the Buckeyes take a 36-33 lead into the locker room. The Boilermakers shot just 38.2% from the field but made six 3-pointers before halftime. 

7:46 p.m. ET — Make that three consecutive 3-pointers as Braden Smith hits a deep shot. Purdue ties the game at 33 before Eugene Brown answers the 9-0 run. 

7:45 p.m. ET — Ohio State calls for a timeout as David Jenkins Jr. and Mason Gillis drill back-to-back 3-pointers for Purdue. It's a three-point game with 1:36 before halftime. The Boilermakers are 5-of-14 from behind the arc. 

7:39 p.m. ET, UNDER 4 — Justice Sueing buries a 3-pointer for Ohio State, and Purdue trails 33-24 with 2:59 left in the first half. The Buckeyes are 14-of-23 from the field and have connected on several tough shots from inside the arc. 

7:38 p.m. ET — Zach Edey is having a quiet first half on the offensive end of the floor. He's 2-of-5 from the field and has four points with less than four minutes to play. 

7:35 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton looking to get more involved offensively this game. He's 2-of-4 from the field and knocked down Purdue's second 3-pointer of the night. 

7:29 p.m. ET, UNDER 8 — Ohio State has a 22-14 lead over Purdue with 7:58 left before halftime. The Buckeyes are 10-of-17 from the field while the Boilermakers are 6-of-23. 

7:24 p.m. ET — David Jenkins Jr. puts in a 3-pointer to end a 12-0 run for Ohio State and a scoring drought of more than four minutes. 

7:18 p.m. ET, UNDER 12 — Brice Sensabaugh races down the court and lays it in through a Purdue foul. Ohio State leads 17-7 with 11:52 before halftime and is on an 11-0 run with a free throw coming up. The Boilermakers are 3-of-16 from the field. 

7:15 p.m. ET — Now Sean McNeil is down on the court for Ohio State after a shot attempt. He makes his way to the bench. The Buckeyes are on a 7-0 run and have made five of their last six shots. 

7:12 p.m. ET — Purdue has five offensive rebounds in the first four minutes of play, and all five of the team's points have come on second-chance opportunities. 

7:08 p.m. ET, UNDER 16 — Purdue trails Ohio State 6-5 at the first media timeout. The Boilermakers are just 2-of-9 from the field to start the game. However, the Buckeyes are without Zed Key for now after he was taken to the locker room with an injury. 

7:06 p.m. ET — Sean McNeil drills a 3-pointer for Ohio State, and Brice Sensabaugh creates space on the next possession for a fastbreak layup. The Buckeyes are 3-of-5 from the field. 

7:05 p.m. ET — Ethan Morton gets a tough shot to even the scoring early on. Purdue missed its first five shots of the game, and Zach Edey has only gotten one look down low. 

Tipoff — Zach Edey wins the tip for Purdue, and Fletcher Loyer gets a shot from behind the arc that doesn't fall. On the other end of the court, Brice Sensabaugh opens the scoring with an easy cut and finish at the rim.

  • Rutgers Hands No. 1 Purdue First Loss of the Season: Purdue lost to Rutgers 65-64 on Monday night at Mackey Arena, falling to 13-1 on the season and 2-1 in Big Ten play.
