FINAL: Gamecocks Defeat Davidson 4-1 Behind Solid Pitching Day

South Carolinas Baseball program gets another Midweek win over Davidson behind solid pitching.

South Carolina, looking to continue to improve against Davidson, had an eventful first inning of the game, where Becker walked three batters and gave up no hits while striking out two. However Davidson managed to bring in a run to take an early 1-0. Carolina would score two of their own off a single from Dylan Brewer, accompanied by two walks and two hit-by-pitches.

Carolina continued scoring, adding another two runs in the second inning behind a single from Talmadge LeCroy. Tyler Pitzer came in for Becker in the second inning and sat down eight straight batters before giving up his first hit, all while striking out four Davidson batters. Ty Good would come in to relieve Pitzer after a single and a walk in the fifth and got the gamecocks out of the inning.

Ty Good continued his great outing in the 6th, striking out the side and all four batters he faced. The game would then be called in the 7th due to weather, giving the Gamecocks the win heading into another weekend series.
