GG Jackson II, young and sometimes very inconsistent, still has one of the highest upsides over many of the 2023 draftees being the youngest player in the class. Jackson took part in the 2023 NBA combine in Chicago, which commenced Monday.

Jackson's combine numbers were released Monday, and the 6-foot-8 forward shined in the three-quarter sprint, posting 3.21 times, ranking second among all power forwards.

While I and others grilled Jackson for his decision-making at times, he is still one of the most prized possessions of the NBA Draft. And let us not forget Jackson's premiere performance of this past season against Auburn, posting 30 points paired with eight rebounds on 48% shooting from the field and 50% from behind the arc (4-8) after starting 0-7.

Its performances like that make the young prospect so special. Some positives of his game are 1. having short-term shooter memory, 2. possessing a pro body and footwork at his age, three; his ability to roam around, and 3. block shots on the defensive end. Watching multiple games and film on Jackson, in spurts, he displayed the ability to make the correct passes, but due to the Gamecocks struggling to shoot the ball this season, it did not show in the stat category; therefore, keep an eye on how stats tick up in the assist category.

The SEC All-Freshman will likely be a G-League project and is expected to be a low-end lottery pick draft pick, but he has a chance to play his way into the mid-first round depending on how he performs in the combine scrimmage.
