After suffering an excruciating loss against the Georgia Bulldogs this past Tuesday night, Lamont Paris and the South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to make sure that one defeat doesn't snowball in multiple, as they head back on the road to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks in the notorious Bud Walton Arena. After starting off conference play 0-3, Eric Musselman's squad got a desperately-needed win this past Tuesday when they knocked off the Texas A&M Aggies thanks to a last-second buzzer-beater.

Despite coming into the season with a ton of hype, Arkansas has struggled to play consistent winning basketball since the week of Thanksgiving, coming into Saturday's matchup with a 10-7 mark. The primary reason for their slow start: how often they put themselves in bad situations on both ends of the floor.

The Hogs rank 333rd out of 351 registered Division one men's basketball programs in fouls committed per game with 20, the worst mark in the SEC. Compounding that aforementioned problem is Arkansas' issue with ball security relative to their opponents, as the Razorbacks rank 281st nationally in Turnover margin (-1.4), which is the second worst mark in the conference.

When looking at Arkansas' offensive stats, the picture becomes more clear in terms of how they like to play. The Razorbacks seem to play an aggressive that can bite them defensively, but pay dividends on the offensive, as the Razorbacks rank 3rd in the country in free throw attempts per game (27.4) and 12th in the country in bench points per game (32.65).

For South Carolina, they'll need to play clean basketball on Saturday in order to avoid letting the raucous crowd in Bud Walton Arena getting into the game, and should attempt to get the ball more around the basket, especially with one of their better perimeter shooters, Myles Stute, expected to miss extended time with a shoulder injury.
