The South Carolina Gamecocks heartbreakingly dropped their last game against the Arkansas Razorbacks. They fought back after being down by as many as nine points with nine minutes to go in the game but missed a last-second three-point heave to win the contest at the end of regulation. Tonight, fans will see whether or not the close defeat to a potential tournament team in Arkansas has a positive or negative effect on the Gamecocks, as they'll be on the road taking on the Missouri Tigers.

The main thing that sticks out about the Tigers is the live-and-die attitude they carry offensively, as they average 81.9 points per game while giving up 74.8 points per game. This has led to the number 70 being deemed a magic number, as Missouri has won their last 20 games where they've scored 70 points but is 1-6 this season when they don't reach that mark.

The Tigers' game plan is to essentially move on the run in transition, catch their opponents napping and take advantage through a three-pointer barrage. The Gamecocks must control the pace by being methodical and not trying to match Missouri's speed. One area where South Carolina could look to expose Missouri is through the paint.

There's only one player taller than 6-5 listed in the Tigers' projected starting lineup, so this should be a game where Josh Gray, Hayden Brown, and GG Jackson are intentional about driving to the basket. This strategy, if done successfully, could also open the door for Chico Carter Jr. and Meechie Johnson to get some wide-open opportunities from behind the arc, thus stretching the Tigers' defense from the inside out.

Suppose South Carolina can get Missouri out of their offensive rhythm and stick to a consistent game plan. In that case, they very well could find themselves in an advantageous situation near the final buzzer.
