South Carolina has had a litany of issues remaining competitive away from Williams-Brice this season, outside of their first-half performance against the Georgia Bulldogs in week three. For the first time since their first SEC matchup of the season, the Gamecocks won the first quarter in a hostile environment, but mistakes in the second quarter piled up, as Shane Beamer's squad is down against the Texas A&M Aggies 21-7 as they head into the locker room.

The first drive of the game saw Carolina's defense go out on the field and immediately set the tone for team, forcing a three-and-out and getting pressure on each of the Aggies' two passing plays they ran. On first offensive drive of the game, a critical moment took place for Dowell Loggains' unit, as the Gamecocks also went three-and-out due to a critical drop by Nyckoles Harbor, but after the play, Beamer and a bevy of offensive players went up and gave him some encouragement.

That encouragement would parlay into two pivotal third down conversions by the former five-star on South Carolina's second offensive drive, which combined with some tough running on the ground and after the catch in the passing game by Mario Anderson Jr., led to the Gamecocks first score of the game. After this drive, however, things would go downhill for South Carolina the rest of the half.

The Aggies would go on to score touchdowns on each of their next three possessions, which was aided by three straight three-and-outs in the second quarter by Spencer Rattler and the offense, and less than ideal punts giving Texas A&M great starting field position. With the Gamecocks getting the ball first to start the second half, they'll need to get a score in order to have a chance to get back into this game, or risk letting things get away from them once again.
