Spencer Rattler Mocked As First-Rounder By CBS Sports NFL Draft Analyst

Spencer Rattler, the star quarterback for South Carolina's Football team, is beginning to receive some first-round buzz from NFL Draft Analysts.

When people turn on the tape from the 2023 season for Spencer Rattler and compare it to what he's displayed over the past couple of years, there's no denying that the arm talent has always been there. Now Rattler is showing the maturation on and off the field to go with that arm talent. So far this Fall, Rattler is completing 73 percent of his passes for 1,411 passing yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions, and has also added two touchdowns on the ground.

His marked improvement despite the adverse circumstances around him has NFL Draft Analysts and scouts buzzing, and his draft stock has subsequently shot up since the beginning of the season. This week, however, the hype surrounding this seemingly reborn Spencer Rattler reached new levels, as Ryan Wilson, an NFL Draft Analyst for CBS Sports, projected Rattler to go 21st overall to the New Orleans Saints in the First Round of his latest NFL Mock Draft that he released on Wednesday.

Wilson believes that Spencer is in the running to be the third quarterback taken in the 2024 NFL Draft behind Southern Cal's Caleb Williams and North Carolina's Drake Maye. Here is his short summary on why he had the Arizona native slotted at No. 21 overall:

"Rattler has been so much fun to watch this season, and it's a testament to his hard work and maturity. He's one of the toughest players in college football and has special arm talent."
