BREAKING: Gamecock WBB Signee Joyce Edwards Named Gatorade National Player of the Year!

The state of South Carolina has produced some of the best women's basketball talent the college game has seen over the past decade, most notably A'ja Wilson (2014 class) and MiLaysia Fulwiley (2023 class). 2024 five-star forward and Camden Product Joyce Edwards is the next great player to come out of the Palmetto State. The good news for Gamecock fans is that Edwards will be dawning garnet and black threads at the next level like the other two aforementioned stars.

Although Joyce is slotted as the second-best prospect in the country for her class by ESPN's HoopGurlz rankings, some believe she might be the best prospect out of this year's group, including the Gatorade National Player of the Year program, who named Edwards the Girl's Basketball National Player of the Year on Thursday morning. Joyce received a pleasant surprise on Wednesday morning from the Dallas Wings' two-time WNBA All-Star forward Satou Sabally, who presented the award to her.
