Back on September 15th, South Carolina offered Amari Latimer, a class of 2026 running back from Tyrone, GA; Latimer is a prospect whom some feel might be the most underrated running backs in Georgia, as he's seen recruitment blow up since September.

Amari's Thoughts On South Carolina

"The offer from South Carolina was exciting and an honor. Coach [Shane] Beamer is a respected name, as well as Coach [Montario] Hardesty. I can't wait to visit and get a chance to sit down and talk with those guys," said Latimer.

Indiana offered Latimer over the summer in May, which has since been followed by 12 more D1 offers. His most notable offers are Georgia, Auburn, Oregon, Miami, and Ole Miss.

"It's a blessing that I am getting all of this attention from these colleges. It's almost like a dream come true, but I try to stay humble and keep my head, and my parents remind me of this every day, and I try to stand by it."

Attending the heralded football program, Sandy Creek High School, which has been a pipeline for stellar college and NFL talent, the most notable graduate being Pro Football Hall of Famer Calvin Johnson. Standing six feet tall and weighing in at 195 pounds, the young running back style is similar to former Indiana Hoosier back Tevin Coleman.

Latimer is tough to contain, and once he accelerates through the hole, he's tough to catch in the open field. Possessing the full package of a modern running back, being able to catch and run with the pig skin, Latimer accumulated 802 all-purpose yards during his freshman campaign. Through week 7 of the GHSA 2023-2024 season, he currently has 1,030 all-purpose yards and 12 touchdowns.

Although currently unranked on all major recruiting platforms, Latimer has the makeup and frame to be a game-changer at the next level. It's still super early in his recruiting, but On3's RPM has Georgia and UCF as the favored schools. Currently, the only 2026 Gamecock commit is quarterback Landon Duckworth
