Blake Franks Commits To South Carolina

2024 offensive lineman Blake Franks has committed to South Carolina's Football program over Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and others.

The 6'5" guard from Greenville, SC, once considered a very heavy Clemson lean, is now a Gamecock after a very long recruitment that took a lot of effort by Shane Beamer and his staff.

Franks plays tackle at his high school and was recruited to play tackle by every school that offered him except South Carolina, who was already after the No. 1 tackle in the nation, Kam Pringle, who has since committed to South Carolina, and the No. 2 tackle in the nation, Josiah Thompson is considered a heavy lean to South Carolina.

Both from the state of South Carolina, this staff found themselves a little late on Franks but quickly got on him and started to talk about the possibility of playing along both sides of the offensive line at guard. They did an excellent job with their pitch and found themselves coming in from behind to take this in-state prospect away from its in-state rival.

He’s a guy that has been trending with in terms of recent offers rankings, as he's received his fourth star on Rivals.com and continues to rise up on other recruiting websites like 247sports and On3 Sports. South Carolina is on the path to building one of the best offensive line classes in the 2024 cycle, and Franks is a key piece in that effort.
