Mazeo Bennett Sets Commitment Date
Head coach Shane Beamer and the Gamecocks' coaching staff have recently been on a tear in the recruiting world, locking down multiple elite-level players. That tear may continue this week as South Carolina recruit Mazeo Bennett has set his commitment date.
On Thursday, the four-star wide receiver tweeted that he would be making his commitment announcement on Friday at noon. Bennett, who is touted as the best receiver in South Carolina for the class of 2024, was previously committed to Tennessee. However, he de-committed from the Volunteers just under two months after.
Adding Bennett to South Carolina's 2024 recruiting class would be a huge win for the Gamecocks, considering how strong that recruiting class is. According to 247 sports, South Carolina's 2024 class is currently ranked as the 10th-best class in the country, and Bennett would further bolster that.
Though Bennett's commitment is unknown, it seems he could be heading to Columbia. He has wanted to play in garnet and black for some time but needed to see a successful offensive attack. Carolina showed him that at the end of last season, and it may be enough to land the talented playmaker.
