BREAKING: Gamecocks Land Commitment From Transfer O-lineman

South Carolina's Football program added another transfer to their roster on Thursday with a commitment from North Carolina Central's Torricelli Simpkins III.

The South Carolina Gamecocks struggled to find consistency along the offensive line in 2023, whether it be on-field performance or just keeping the same starting group healthy. In order to help change their fortunes in this position group, Shane Beamer and his staff are bringing in help via the transfer portal, as the program landed a commitment from North Carolina Central o-lineman Torricelli Simpkins III.

Simpkins was named the MEAC Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2023, and according to his North Carolina Central player profile, was also named an FCS Preseason Third-Team All-American by The Bluebloods. Torricelli has started 33 games in his college career, with all but four of those starts being at the center position.
