Stanford added two recruits to their 2024 recruiting class on Wednesday's signing day, and they both happened to be recruits who were a part of the 2025 class.

Both three-star linebacker Maxwell Richardson and three-star offensive lineman Charlie Hoitink announced on social media that they'd be skipping their senior years, and signing with Stanford. Richardson, who stands in at 6-foot-3, 225 pounds was First Team All-Conference, All-Region, and All-State this past season, while also helping his team win a Michigan state title.

He broke down his decision in an interview with 247Sports' Allen Trieu.

"As you can imagine, there were nearly a million questions, and angles that went into the decision," Richardson told 247Sports. "Some that come to mind are a retiring high school head coach and many assistants, a great support staff and player development staff over at Stanford, and also opportunities to pursue higher education at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, under scholarship."

He expressed that Stanford's staff plans to use him as both inside and outside linebacker, but he projects inside long-term.

"Stanford likes me at both inside and outside linebacker spots, giving me four different opportunities to seek the field," Maxwell said. "As my relationship has grown with the staff, we’ve decided that it’s best for me to begin to pursue the inside linebacker spots over the course of my career. I wholeheartedly believe in the coaching staff from every angle, but have had the opportunity to develop an amazing relationship with Coach D’Onofrio and can’t wait to be developed under him with Coach April’s system."

He chose Stanford over programs like Boston College, Minnesota, and Dartmouth among others.

Joining Maxwell in reclassifying was Hoitink out of Wisconsin, who now makes it five offensive linemen in their class, and ranks as the second-highest of the group. He is an absolute unit, standing in at 6-foot-4, 305 pounds, and can also bench 420 pounds.

He told 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong that he is excited to get to work.

“Very excited to get working with Coach V(iane Talamaivao) and Coach (Al) Netter and begin developing my skills as an offensive lineman,” Hoitink told 247Sports. “Also excited to put in work with Coach (Ryan) Deatrick and my teammates this summer!"

He chose Stanford over programs like Boston College, Iowa State, Indiana, and Rutgers.

Stanford's class now sits at 25 signees, and ranks as the No. 29 class in 247Sports' composite rankings.
