WATCH: Ari Patu connects with CJ Hawkins who makes great one-handed grab

In this story:
Stanford's spring practice is under way again, and one of the things that fans and media members alike are watching out for is the quarterback battle.
In this modern era of college football, we have become prone to looking for clips or pictures of quarterbacks to see who they are working with to determine who is the starter. It was observed in their first day back that Ari Patu was running with the first team, and he was also featured on social media making a great sidearm throw to CJ Hawkins who was able to haul in the pass with one hand.

Patu is currently battling with Ashton Daniels for the starting spot, and will also have to fend off four-star Myles Jackson who will be joining the battle in the fall. For Hawkins, he is vying for a more prominent role in an offense that heavily relies on tight ends.
New head coach Troy Taylor applauded the effort level he saw at practice, but the former Sacramento State head coach is well aware that the team has a long way to go. Stanford is fresh off a 3-9 season that saw David Shaw step down while losing a majority of their starters.
