The Stanford Cardinal have seen two of their recruiting targets back off of their USC commitments over the past couple of days, and may be able to benefit in a major way.

Just a couple of days after four-star forward and top-30 recruit Trent Perry decommitted from USC, four-star guard Liam Campbell did the same.

The Idaho native is ranked as a top-100 recruit in the country, and committed to the Trojans back in August, and signed in November. However, following the departure of head coach Andy Enfield to USC, he has re-opened his recruitment which is where Stanford and new head coach Kyle Smith could come into play.

He was offered by the previous Stanford staff, and also held an offer from Washington State which means that Smith or one of his new staffers who have come over to Palo Alto with him have some sort of relationship with Campbell. This gives Stanford a prime opportunity to add to their recruiting class, which is currently sitting at just one player in three-star Elijah Crawford.

Campbell was named 2023-24 Idaho MaxPreps High School Basketball Player of the Year for his strong year that saw him lead Owyhee High School to a 24-3 record, averaging 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest while shooting 49.1% from the field, 40.5% from three-point range and 85.7% from the free throw line.
