The 22nd ranked Syracuse women's basketball team picked up its most impressive win of the season with a 79-65 win at #15 Notre Dame. With the victory, the Orange improved to 17-2 (7-1) on the season. It is the first time in program history that Syracuse was beating the Fighting Irish on the road. SU was 0-19 entering Thursday night's game. It was also the first time Syracuse has swept Notre Dame in a season. 

Next up is the 19th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies in the JMA Wireless Dome on Sunday. That game tips at Noon Eastern and will be broadcast on the ACC Network. 

A closely contested first half saw Syracuse start to gain control of the game at the end of the first half, pushing to a six point advantage at halftime. The Orange came out looking to extend its lead in the third, taking a nine point lead just a couple of minutes into the second half. 

Notre Dame, however, would respond. A 10-0 run would put the Irish back in the lead. After going up by three, Syracuse answered back with a 6-1 run to take the lead back. The game would enter the fourth all squared at 51. 

Syracuse then took control in the fourth. A 7-2 spurt to start the quarter gave the Orange some breathing room. That was followed by a 9-3 run to extend the lead to double digits. Syracuse would cruise the rest of the way. 

Dyaisha Fair led Syracuse with 25 points including four made three pointers. She added seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Kyra Wood was a force inside with 13 rebounds and six blocks. Alaina Rice added 19 points and eight rebounds. 

The Orange was dominant inside even more so than the first meeting in the Dome. Syracuse outrebounded Notre Dame 50-34, outscored the Irish in the paint 40-24 and in second chance points 23-4.
