Syracuse Basketball to Face Oregon in Neutral Court Game in December

The Orange will play the Ducks at Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota.

Syracuse men's basketball will play the Oregon Ducks in a neutral court non-conference game next season, according to a

press release by Sanford Sports. The two teams will square off at the Sanford Pentagon in South Dakota on December 17th.

“This is a big-time matchup with two of the most recognizable and successful programs in college basketball,” said Jesse Smith, vice president of Sanford Sports, in a press release. “We take a tremendous amount of pride in being able to bring championship-caliber teams from across the country to Sioux Falls and are excited for these two schools to make their Pentagon debut in front of a passionate crowd and incredible atmosphere on Heritage Court.”

Syracuse head coach Adrian Autry is looking forward to the matchup.

“We are excited to play in the Sanford Pentagon against Oregon,” said Autry in a press release. “I believe this game will help to enhance our non-conference schedule and will be a great game for our players and our program. We are looking forward to the challenge.”

Similarly, Ducks head coach Dana Altman is excited for the game.

“This is a great opportunity for our program,” said Altman. “We are excited to play in this historic venue against an opponent like Syracuse. Our team is looking forward to visiting Sioux Falls.”

The Orange is also participating in the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, as was reported last year, along with Chaminade, Gonzaga, Kansas, Marquette, Purdue, Tennessee and UCLA.
