Aggies in the NFL: Seals-Jones shines in starting role with Cleveland

COLLEGE STATION - Much like College Football, the NFL has hit their quarter mark of the season. Teams will now be heading into bye weeks, gaining much deserved rest moving forward.
The San Francisco 49ers and New York Jets were the first to take a breather as Week 4 of the NFL rolled along. Luckily for Texas A&M fans, there were no active players heading into the bye week. For one former Aggie, it was a perfect Sunday for him to shine.
With Cleveland Browns' tight end David Njoku expected to miss time with a leg injury, Ricky Seals-Jones split reps as a starter in Freddie Kitchens' offense. The former Arizona Cardinals tight end was claimed off waivers last September after failing to make the final 53-man roster.

In his first true start with the franchise, Seal-Jones shined on offense. He finished with three catches for 82 yards and scored a 9-yard touchdown from Baker Mayfield in the first quarter. As a blocker, the former Aggie receiver helped the rushing game collect 193 yards and four total touchdowns.
While expected to see his role diminish when Njoku returns, Seals-Jones made an early impression with his new team. Known for his massive frame in College Station, the 24-year-old is still adjusting to his new position. Should he continue to be successful in the red zone, expect more targets and potential scores in the future.
Let's check in on how the rest of the A&M alumni performed.
Denver Broncos OLB Von Miller: After struggling early to generate a pass rusher, Miller shined against Jacksonville. He finished with six solo tackles and two sacks in the loss. It would be his 100th career sack with the Broncos.
Sack No. 💯 for @VonMiller!

Tampa Bay Buccaneers WR Mike Evans: In a shootout win against the Los Angeles Rams, Evans played a complimentary role to Chris Godwin. Still, the former top-10 selection finished with four catches for 89 yards and scored on a 69-yard touchdown.

Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett: The Browns picked up the victory over the Baltimore Ravens, bringing them back to a .500 record. Garrett finished with one tackle and added pressure to Lamar Jackson off the edge.
Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk: Despite it looking like a long season for the Cardinals, it seems they have found Larry Fitzgerald's replacement in Kirk. The second-year standout had four receptions for 37 yards in the team's 27-10 loss.
Atlanta Falcons OT Jake Matthews: Although slow out of the gate, the Falcons' offense has generated a ton of production. Matthews started at left tackle and helped Atlanta to 422 total yards against the Tennessee Titans.
New Orleans Saints OC Erik McCoy: The Saints offensive line has helped Teddy Bridgewater and New Orleans stay on a winning streak. McCoy started at center and helped the team finish with 266 total yards in a balanced look.
Jacksonville Jaguars PK Josh Lambo: Lambo came on strong for the Jaguars late against Denver. He would go 4-for-4 on field goals, including hitting a game-winning 33 yard shot as time expired.

New England Patriots DE Michael Bennett: Working into a starting role, Bennett has helped the Patriots defense being the season 4-0. The veteran defensive end finished with one solo tackle and a battled pass.
Los Angeles Rams WR Josh Reynolds: Despite being active for every outing, Reynolds had yet to make a catch. He finally did in the team's loss to Tampa Bay, finishing with one reception for 22 yards.
Cleveland Browns WR Damion Ratley: Raltley could see his role diminish with the return of Antonio Callaway. He finished with one catch for 10 yards Sunday.
Cincinnati Bengals PK Randy Bullock: Bullock saw little action in the team's loss to Pittsburgh Monday. He did hit his only field goal attempt from 28 yards. Those would end up being the only points of the evening for the Bengals.
Seattle Seahawks OL Germain Ifedi: The Seahawks offensive line has looked stronger this season. Ifedi started at right tackle and helped the team to 340 total yards of offense.
Kansas City Chiefs FS Armani Watts: Playing predominately in nickel formation and special teams, Watts had one solo stop in the win over Detroit.
Washington Redskins SS Deshazor Everett: Seeing more action against rookie quarterback Daniel Jones, Everett finished with three tackles in the team's loss.
New England Patriots OL Jermaine Eluemunor: New England's offense has played second fiddle to their defense this season. A a swing tackle and backup guard, Eluemunor saw some action the red zone, specially on run-heavy looks.
NOTE: Baltimore's Daylon Mack, Philadelphia's Daeshon Hall, Green Bay's Kingsley Keke, Houston's Cullen Gillaspia, Jacksonville's Cedric Ogbuehi and Tennessee's Ryan Tannehill were all active but did not record a stat.
NOTE: Dallas' Donovan Wilson, Miami's Keaton Sutherland and Cincinnati's Trayveon Williams were all inactive as healthy scratches.
NOTE: Green Bay's Jace Sternberger, Tampa Bay's Justin Evans and Baltimore's Otaro Alaka have all been placed on the injured reserved list. Sternberger and Evans are eligible to return following Week 8 while Alaka will be sidelined until Week 12.
