COLLEGE STATION - If one has ever been to Texas, they would know football is a tradition. What feels like a never-ending schedule, fans pack high school stadiums for Friday night lights and will continue to watch until Monday comes to a close.

Producing some of the top talents, the state is always battling for the best prospects each year. Some teams such as Texas provide a winning culture while others like Texas Tech allow players to showcase their talent. Others include Baylor, TCU, Texas State and of course, Texas A&M.

A&M has climbed the ranks since leaving the Big 12 and joining the SEC. Now led by former Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher, the Aggies are expected to become a contender for the title every season. Even when recruiting talent, the SEC background could give them a slight advantage.

Others have also taken notice of the success found at Kyle Field over the past several seasons.

According to SiriusXM's Chris Childers believes that A&M is the "best job in the country," and Fisher is on his way to bringing in a title. Despite having to recruit against in-state rivals, Childers believes A&M is in a perfect spot to bring in talent across the nation.

"The reason I think that is because they have every bell and whistle known to man, they're in an incredible geographic area for recruiting and they're in the best conference in the country," Childers said on Tuesday evening.
"If I'm  a star recruit in the state of Texas and I have offers from both Texas and Texas A&M, I'm picking A&M."

The pressure was added to Fisher's resume following his lucrative 10-year, $75 million contract in 2018. Following his consistent success with the Seminoles, A&M expects their new man in charge not only to bring home regular SEC titles but also National Championships over the next decade.

That all starts with recruiting. A coach is only as good as the players he can train. Last season, 24/7 Sports ranked the Aggies recruiting class 3rd in the nation. Now with an established name in SEC and a versatile core to build around, A&M should be adding recruits daily.

"They're entering their eighth year in the SEC and I think we're finally starting to see them take true advantage of it," Childers said of A&M. "You saw it when they hired (Jimbo) Fisher, they've done everything possible to invest in all the structural things in the program from the weight room and the facilities."

According to 24/7 Sports, A&M currently ranks 11th in recruiting for the 2020 class. Their top recruits five-star wide receiver Demond Dumas (Tomball), five-star safety Jaylon Jones (Cibolo Steele) and five-star dual-threat quarterback Haynes Kings (Longview).

With the Aggies trend towards the top of recruiting status, the future is bright in College Station. According to Childers, thanks to A&M's conference, they should become the "must watch" school in the Lone Star State for years to come.

Said Childers: "A&M's got the best league in the country to sell. If you play at Texas A&M, you are guaranteed if you play four years that you'll play in Tuscaloosa twice, Baton Rouge twice, Auburn twice. You don't have that same sell at Texas."

The Aggies will open the 2019 season on Thursday at Kyle Field against Texas State at 7:30 p.m.
