KNOXVILLE, Tenn.– The No. 1 Tennessee BaseVols and No. 24 Alabama will begin their weekend series on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee's starting lineup for Friday night is below: 

Starting lineup notes: 

-UT HC Tony Vitello said on Thursday that Jared Dickey would be available to play on defense this weekend, but the freshman will stay in a DH role for Friday. 

-This leaves Seth Stephenson to start at LF, as Chris Moore has been struggling at the plate that last few games. 

The Vols will wear their home white uniforms in game one versus the Tide. Alabama will wear all grey.

UT Swimming and Diving HC Matt Kredich throws out the first pitch in LNS

1st Inning: 

T1

-Jim Jarvis flies out to deep left center. 

-Drew Williamson strikes out swinging. 

-Zane Denton is the first Alabama player on base with a single to center. 

-William Hamiter strikes out swinging to end the top of the frame.

B1

-Jared Dickey is walked. 

-Seth Stephenson grounds into a double play. 

-Mike Honcho line drives a single to center for the Vols first hit of the day. 

-Drew Gilbert shellacks a deep RBI triple to the left center wall as Beck scores. Vols take the early lead.

-Trey Lipscomb makes it three straight hits with an RBI single up the middle. Vols' bats are HOT. 

-Another hit, as Luc Lipcius gets ahold of one for a ground rule double to right field. Lipscomb advances to third.

-Evan Russell strikes out swinging to end the inning and leave a pair stranded. 

Score: Vols 2, Tide 0

2nd Inning: 

T2

-Tommy Seidl grounds out. 

-Owen Diodati homers over the left field wall for the Tide's first run. No-doubter once you heard the sound off the bat. 

-Pinckney flies out to right. 

-Bryce Elbin strikes out swinging to end the top of the second.

B2

-McMillan surrenders a leadoff walk to Jorel Ortega. 

-Cortland Lawson is walked. Ortega goes to second. Alabama calls a mound meeting. 

-Dickey reaches first on a fielder's choice as Ortega is out at third. Lawson goes to second. 

-Seth Stephenson flies out to RF. 

-Jordan Beck is walked. 

-Drew Gilbert nearly hits a grand slam as a laser off of Gilbert's bat goes to the warning track to end the inning.

3rd Inning: 

T3

-Dominic Tamez grounds out to begin the third. 

-Jim Jarvis drills his third homer of the season into the Tennessee bullpen. Tie game. 

-Drew Williamson hits a single that just escapes Jorel Ortega's reach into right center. One out, one on for the Tide. 

-Zane Denton gives Alabama another hit with a single to left. Bama's bats having success as the game goes on. Two on first and second, one out.

-William Hamiter lines out to center as Drew Gilbert makes the impressive sliding grab to get the second out of the inning. 

-Chase Burns strikes out Tommy Seidl to end the top of the frame. Big time K to leave two Alabama players stranded.

B3

-Trey Lipscomb floats one to the second baseman for the first out. 

-Luc Lipcius flies out to shallow center. 

-Evan Russell sends the first pitch of his AB down the left field line for a single. Tennessee up to five hits to tie Bama. 

-Jorel Ortega singles up the middle to put runners on first and second for Tennessee. Two outs. Cortland Lawson up. 

-Cortland Lawson flies to right center where Alabama's William Hamiter makes an acrobatic diving catch for the final out.

4th Inning: 

T4

-Owen Diodati again. Diodati hits one just over the center field wall past Drew Gilbert's glove for Alabama's third run. All have come from single run homers. 

**Chase Burns had given up three homers all season before tonight. He's given up three in three innings and change. 

-Andrew Pinckney singles through the left side, advances to second on a balk. 

-Bryce Eblin is walked. Runners on first and second for the Tide with no outs. 

**UT pitching change: Will Mabrey to pitch for Chase Burns**

-Dominic Tamez reaches on a fielding error by Lawson. Brutal error. Pinckney scores on the error. Elbin advances to second. 

-Jim Jarvis singles to third base on a bunt. Bases loaded.

-Drew Williamson sac flies to center field to score Elbin. Bama takes a three-run lead. 

-Zane Denton grounds into a double play tp third base to end the inning. Much-needed double play there for Tennessee. \

Chase Burns final line: 3.0 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 51 strikes on 74 total pitches.

-Jared Dickey flied out to left field. 

-**Christian Scott pinch hitting for Seth Stephenson. Scott strikes out swinging.**

-Jordan Beck grounds out to SS to make for McMillan's first 1-2-3 inning. Call under review and is upheld.

**Scott takes over left field for Stephenson**

-William Hamiter singles up the middle for his first hit of the evening.

-Tommy Seidl flies out to right center. 

 -Owen Diodati flies out to left field. 

-Andrew Pinckney grounds to second where Hamiter is tagged out to end the top of the inning.

-Drew Gilbert strikes out looking and throws a fit heading into Tennessee's dugout. Tony Vitello unhappy with the home umpire as well. 

-Trey Lipscomb flies out to RF. 

-Luc Lipcius hits a high foul ball over the right field wall. Call under review to see if it's foul or not. Call upheld. 

-Luc Lipcius strikes out to end the inning.

6th Inning:

-Elbin lines out to left field. Great catch from Christian Scott. 

-Tamez strikes out swinging. 

-Jim Jarvis grounds out. Nice 1-2-3 inning from Mabrey and the Vols.

-Evan Russell strikes out swinging. 

-Jorel Ortega cracks a towering home run into the left field porches to cut the deficit to two runs. Much-needed spark for Tennessee.

**Alabama pitching change: Hunter Hoopes to pitch for Garrett McMillan.**

-Jared Dickey dings a double to right field. 

-Christian Scott flies out to end the inning.

**Dylan Ray to pitch for Brock Guffey**

-Jorel Ortega grounds out to third. 

-Cortland Lawson pops up to center field to end the inning.

-Tamez doubles to right center.

-Jim Jarvis grounds out.  

-Drew Williamson destroys a hall to the right center wall that is inches away from leaving the yard. Tamez scores. Bama leads 6-3. 

**Kirby Connell to pitch for Blade Tidwell**

-Connell delivers a strikeout to end the top of the frame.

-Jared Dickey bounces a single to third base. 

**Kyle Booker to pinch hit for Scott. Logan Steenstra to pinch run for Dickey.**

-Booker strikes out looking. Second strike call was horrendous. 

-Jordan Beck grounds out. Steenstra goes to second. One on, two outs for Drew Gilbert. 

-Gilbert pops up to end the ballgame.
