247Sports Releases New Top-25 Poll

In this story:
247Sports updated their "way-too-early rankings" after the transfer portal closed, and coaching vacancies continue to be filled. According to their rankings, the Tennessee Volunteers held pat as the No. 11 team in college football. Amid the ongoing NCAA investigation, the Vols continue to be a trendy team heading into next season. Most have them hovering around the College Football Playoff; they start the season in it this time.
"Former five-star Nico Iamaleava leads the Vols at quarterback in a new era of sorts offensively. He was responsible for four touchdowns in his first career start in the Citrus Bowl win over Iowa and last season's sensation at the position, Hendon Hooker, already deemed him "the chosen one" in Knoxville. That's high praise given Hooker's importance to the program and heightened success during his tenure. Like Penix did at Washington, Iamaleava is the type of talent that makes everyone around him better." - 247Sports's Brad Crawford on Tennessee
The NCAA is currently investigating the University of Tennessee for alleged recruitment violations with current starting quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
