Tennessee Alumni Joins Finebaum, Sings Heupel's Praises

In this story:
It is an exciting time to be a part of the Tennessee Volunteer family. The Men's Basketball team is primed to make a big March run. The Football team is gearing up for Spring practice.
At the SEC Basketball tournament in Nashville, however, the latter was the topic of discussion. Former Tennessee Wide Receiver and current NIL entrepreneur Grant Frerking joined the Paul Finebaum show on Thursday afternoon to speak about the Volunteer Football program.
More specifically, he talked about the guy running the show, Head Coach Josh Heupel. The first thing Grant mentioned was Heupel's openness and personality, which everyone in the building gravitates towards.
"He doesn't feel like he has to be somebody he's not." This type of authenticity from Coach Heupel is a big reason that Tennessee is on the come up. His experience is another reason and is something that Frerking also noted. The UT alumni mentioned Coach's playing experience as an All-American and National Champion Quarterback at Oklahoma.
Frerking believes that Josh Heupel is unique because he wants to "write his own script." Unlike other guys, such as the previous Tennessee Head Coach, Jeremy Pruitt, Heupel does not come from a blueblood coaching tree. Coach Heupel wants to create his own legacy and do it his way, but not in an ego-driven way, as Frerkin told Paul Finebaum.
"That's a culture, buy-in, development thing," Frerkin said. The team sure does seem to reflect this coaching approach. Coming off of an 11-win season, the Vols are in many people's Preseason Top 5. With Spring Ball approaching, Heupel has this team headed in the right direction. Many in the Tennessee community seem to agree, including Grant Frerking.
Another trip to Tennessee... another amazing visit with @GrantFrerking
