Jaylen Wright Ranked as No. 2 NFL Draft RB

Tennessee Volunteers running back Jaylen Wrighthad a dominant performance at the 2024 NFL Combine. He was one of the most athletic backs attending, logging several standout numbers throughout his testing period. Wright also had an excellent final season at the University of Tennessee, becoming their first 1,000-yard rusher since 2015.
Wright was a predraft sleeper before the NFL Combine, drawing the attention of ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. However, after his performance, he began to shoot up draft boards. Pro Football Focus recently ranked Wright as the No. 2 running back in the entire class, behind Texas running back Jonathan Brooks.
PFF has Wright as their No. 71 overall prospect in the class, and writer Trevor Sikkema broke down what he likes about Wright's game. One thing that works in Wright's favor is his age - he is only 20 years old and has limited college miles put on him, meaning his best football is in front of him at the professional level.
"Wright is an NFL-caliber athlete for the running back position. His youth is both a positive (lack of mileage) and a negative (lack of consistent RB vision), but he has succeeded in both gap and zone-blocking concepts and has top-tier pass protection ability for three-down potential in the NFL." - PFF's Trever Sikemma on Jaylen Wright
