WATCH: Josh Dobbs Gifts Reporter With UT Gear

Quarterback Josh Dobbs is gearing up to make a huge start for Tennessee on Sunday, but the former Volunteer is keeping the locker room light-hearted.

The Tennessee Titans are amidst a playoff push coming down to the final game. With starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill likely out for the season, the Titans looked to free agency to find a signal caller to propel them.

They settled on Josh Dobbs, the former Tennessee star who has been a journeyman backup thus far. The Titans gave Dobbs the reigns to the offense, asking him to lead them to the playoffs.

While Dobbs had zero career starts when he joined the team, he maintained the same energy and calm that made him successful with the Volunteers. Dobbs gifted reporter Jim Hyatt a Tennessee hat; Hyatt is a UT alum who cheers for Vanderbilt.

The local media loved the gesture, showing that Dobbs could adapt to his environment even in a few short weeks. In his first career start, Dobbs threw for 232 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a two-score loss to Dallas.

He needs a better performance against the Jaguars on Sunday Night Football to clinch the AFC South crown and send the Titans back to the postseason.
