NFL Draft Analyst Has High Marks For Jaylen Wright

In this story:
Tennessee running back Jaylen Wright is making a lot of fans ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. The 20-year-old North Carolina native had a productive three-year career in the SEC and doesn't have much tread on his tires. Many NFL executives are drawn to that type of running back profile on day two, and it seems that's where Wright could end up.
Draft Countdown's Shane Hallam has had Wright as a top-5 running back on his board after the season. He doubled down on that opinion, citing Wright's elite speed and improved production in the passing game. Wright had eight career 100-yard games during his time at the University of Tennessee and had a knack for explosive plays.
Tennessee RB Jaylen Wright is still squarely in my Top 5. I think he is a contender for the fastest 40 for a RB at the Combine

(Realistically, it will be Bucky Irving, but contender)
I think the full package potential to be an NFL starting RB is there. Showed receiving ability…
ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. also left glowing remarks on Wright earlier this week. "I like everything about him," Kiper explained. "In the NFL, you’ve got to be able to run through contact, basically make the first defender miss, and if you get into a situation where you’re off-balance, the ability to keep the chains moving with an extra yard or two, that he showed he could provide. I'm a big fan of Jaylen Wright from Tennessee. If you can get him in that fifth-round area, you’ve got yourself one heck of a running back."
