LIVE UPDATES - Tennessee vs Alabama 

First Quarter

  • (7-0), 12:39 - Quarterback Joe Milton III finds wide receiver Squirrel White downfield a 39-yard touchdown to start the scoring action.
  • (7-0), 10:45 - The Vols force a three-and-out on the opening drive and get the ball back on their own 14-yard line.
  • (7-0), 9:32 - Tennessee suffers a 4-yard loss on first down that set them back on the drive. They quickly go three-and-out and punt to Alabama, who gets the ball on their own 30-yard line.
  • (7-0), 7:30 - Alabama gets across midfield but can't convert on a 3rd & 5. After a sailed pass from Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe, Tennessee gets the ball on its own 15-yard line.
  • (10-0), 2:00 - Tennessee kicker Charles Campbell nets a 24-yard field goal after Tennessee gets in a goal-to-go situation. The Vols carry a two-score lead in the first quarter. 
  • (10-0), 1:16 - Tennessee edge rusher James Pearce Jr. comes off the edge and knocks the football loose. Tennessee recovers at the 23-yard line.
  • (13-0), 0:11 - Milton tries to finds tight end Jacob Warren in the end zone, but the pairing can't connect. Campbell makes his second field goal of the game from 26 yards.
  • END OF 1Q: TENNESSEE, 13-0

Second Quarter

  • (13-0), 12:18 - Tennessee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott gets home on 3rd & 7 to knock Alabama out of field goal range and force a punt. The football bounces into the endzone, and the Vols will get the ball at their own 20-yard line.
  • (13-0), 11:10 - The Vols quickly go three-and-out and punt to the Crimson Tide, who get it near midfield.  
  • (13-7), 7:05 - Milroe drops back on 3rd & 7 in the red zone and finds wide receiver Jermaine Burton over the middle for Alabama's first points of the afternoon. 
  • (13-7), 5:42 - Milton tries to stretch the ball on 4th & inches, but Alabama's defense holds and gives the ball to their offense in plus territory.
  • (13-7), 3:10 - Alabama gets into the red zone, but corner Doneiko Slaughter tips a pass intended for Burton, which winds up in the hands of safety Jaylen McCollough. Tennessee will start with the ball on their own 20-yard line.
  • (20-7), 0:12 - Milton drops back on third and goal, and when the Crimson Tide bring an all-out blitz, he finds tight end McCallie Castles in the back of the end zone for a touchdown.
  • END OF 2Q: TENNESSEE, 20-7

Third Quarter

  • (20-14), 14:19 - Milroe finds wide receiver Isaiah Bond streaking downfield for a 46-yard touchdown.
  • (20-14), 12:31 - Tennessee punts from its own end zone after a special teams miscue, and the punt sails to the Alabama 30-yard line.
  • (20-17), 8:33 - Alabama gets down the field and nets a field goal courtesy of kicker Will Reichard
  • (20-17), 6:24 - Alabama blows up a 4th & 1 attempt from the Vols and turns them over on downs. The Crimson Tide will get it in plus territory.
  • (20-24), 3:42 - Alabama drives down the field again and running back Jase McClellan finds the end zone for the touchdown.
  • (20-24), 1:08 - Tennessee starts the drive moving backward with a penalty and negative passing play, and they are forced to punt back to Alabama.

Fourth Quarter

  • (20-27), 8:17 - Alabama drives down the field, and after a third down sack, Reichard nails a 50-yard field goal to put Alabama up by a full touchdown.
  • (20-34), 7:26 - Milton gets stripped and Alabama defensive lineman Jihaad Campbell returns it 24 yards for a touchdown.
  • (20-34), 2:00 - Milton sails a pass on 4th & 10 in the red zone, and Alabama takes over on downs.
  • (20-34), 1:33 - The Vols use all three timeouts and get a stop to force a punt. They get the ball on their own 36-yard line.
  • END OF 4Q: ALABAMA, 34-20

Tennessee Football's Injury Report

  • Omarr Norman-Lott - IN. Norman-Lott appeared in the season's first five games and was an impact contributor on the defensive front. However, he missed the Texas A&M game, though the Vols managed without him. Heupel confirmed he will be active this week.
  • Daevin Hobbs - IN. The former five-star defensive lineman has looked good in his three appearances, but he has missed time with nagging injuries against Florida and Texas A&M. Heupel confirmed he would be ready to play this weekend.
  • Gerald Mincey - IN. After missing time at the beginning of the season, Mincey started the past two games on the offensive line. He left the Texas A&M game with an injury but has been cleared to play against the Crimson Tide.
