Tennessee's Top Five Most-Wanted On The Recruiting Trail

In this story:
The Tennessee Volunteers got big news on Monday morning when Brentwood Academy quarterback George MacIntyre chose them over Alabama. They've been planning to build around him as the centerpiece of their 2025 recruiting class, and now that they have him in the boat, they gain over with a lot of blue-chip prospects.
The Vols have the No. 9 recruiting class in 2025, according to 247Sports. There are still several top priorities out there, as Tennessee only has six commits in the fold. Head coach Josh Heupel has been adamant about raising the recruiting standard at the University of Tennessee, and they have a chance at an elite recruiting class with the in-state talent on the board.
David Sanders Jr., OT
Providence Day offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. has been in the national spotlight since his freshman season. He checks in as the No. 2 prospect in 2025 and has three SEC programs at the centerpiece of his recruitment: Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Tennessee is hoping to get him back on campus soon, and adding an elite passer in his recruiting class certainly helps. Sanders and MacIntyre developed a relationship on a recruiting trip to Alabama and have kept in touch since.
Cameron Sparks, WR
Baylor wide receiver Cameron Sparks is the No. 2 prospect in the state of Tennessee and the No. 40 prospect in America. Sparks has been pitched on playing both sides of the football in college, but Tennessee is recruiting him to play wide receiver. He's familiar with MacIntyre, as the two play in the same high school division and have competed a lot over the years.
Ethan Utley, DL
Ensworth defensive lineman Ethan Utley had a fantastic junior season, totaling 21 tackles, 10 TFLs, and 4.5 sacks. He released a top five of Michigan, Oklahoma, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Texas on Christmas Day, and the Vols have been a mainstay in this one. He has a strong relationship with defensive line coach Rodney Garner and has been to Tennessee more than any other program.
Marcus Harris, WR
Tennessee has gone to California several times in the Heupel era, and for prospects who don't care about playing too far for home, the Vols are very attractive. Mater Dei wide receiver Marcus Harris is one of those prospects - he caught 43 passes for 644 yards and six touchdowns this past season. He made his first trip to Knoxville over the weekend and spent time with MacIntyre. Tennessee's offensive staff stood out on the trip, and Harris should be back on campus soon.
Caleb Cunningham, WR
Choctaw County wide receiver Caleb Cunningham caught 48 passes for 1,138 yards and 14 touchdowns. The No. 11 prospect in the 247Sports' Composite Rankings has made two trips out to Knoxville, and though the Mississippi State Bulldogs have momentum, Tennessee is in that top group. MacIntyre's decision does play a role here, as Tennessee can guarantee talented quarterback play for Cunningham.
