In this story:

It's been an interesting first half of play from Tennessee against Texas A&M. The Volunteers head into halftime down three points, and Texas A&M will open the second half with the football. Tennessee certainly will be at a disadvantage coming out of the break, but they've done some good things through one half.

The run game has been their saving grace on offense. Running back Jaylen Wright tallied 78 yards in the first half on nine carries, snapping off multiple explosive runs. Offensive line penalties have taken away several more big gains, but they consistently create big lanes.

The passing game has been disappointing. Quarterback Joe Milton III threw for 38 yards in the first half, and while he doesn't have a turnover-worthy play yet, he also isn't capitalizing enough in crucial spots. There was a bad sequence in the first half where he went out of bounds short of the sticks on a free play, and on the ensuing third down, they couldn't convert.

The defense has been as advertised through 5 1/2 games. The defensive front is creating real pressure and throwing Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson off his spot, by oftentimes, the Aggies are holding on just long enough for their targets to beat the coverage.
