Where Nico Iamaleava Sits In New Heisman Odds
Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava continues to surge in the eyes of the national public. His name initially got thrown into national conversations after his performance in the Cheez-It Citrus Bowl, where he earned game MVP honors. Then, he became the subject of an NCAA investigation into the University of Tennessee and their recruitment of him.
While it's been a whirlwind offseason, one thing remains clear: people are highly anticipating a full season of Iamaleava. Head coach Josh Heupel handpicked him to be the quarterback who continues to push the program into this new era, and we are getting closer to seeing what he's capable of. Iamaleava is already a trendy bet for the 2024 Heisman Memorial Trophy, awarded annually to the top player in college football.
Circa Sports updated their Heisman odds for next season and Iamaleava is tied for the third-best odds with LSU quarterback Garrett Nussmeier and Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart. He comes in ahead of several other notable signal callers across the country and represents a growing faction of supremely talented SEC quarterbacks. It looks like the conference will have some high-scoring duels this season, and Iamaleava could be a part of many.
