In this story:

What at times appeared to be a bit of an up and down season for the Rick Barnes led Tennessee basketball team, had a strong finish to the season in March Madness.

Unforunately, the Vols were eliminated from the dance in the Elite Eight, but in all honest, the team was really playing with house money due to many not expecting Tennessee to make it that far.

It is clear to see that the program is not satisfied with just getting there as the coaching staff turned the attention to roster management.

The Vols were able to get Belmont G transfer Tyler Lundblade on campus for a one-day visit that quickly transitioned into a 3-day visit and a commitment on the third day.

The Announcement

Lundblade is one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the country, ranked nationally inside the top 10 with 3-point shots made on 43-percent. This is something that seems to have been missing from the Tennessee program for a few years in an overall shooter.

The 6-foot-5, 195-pound commit will be a nice addition of length on a player who can pull up and shoot any time. Being named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year helps solidify the talent level, on top of draining 115 3-point shots.

Rick Barnes has had a few guys who could shoot, but the consistency and precision was not always towards the ceiling of their abilities. The Tennessee faithful will gravitate to Lundblade fairly quickly.

The Dallas (TX) native began his collegiate career in Texas at SMU before heading to Nashville to attend Belmont.

Now that Lundblade has committed to Tennessee, the move will be much shorter.

It will be interesting to see how quickly the transfer adjusts to his new home. It is almost certain that the gears in Rick Barnes' mind are just rolling.
