Florida Atlantic Defeats Fairleigh Dickinson, Will Meet Tennessee In Sweet Sixteen

In this story:
The Tennessee Volunteers are making an excellent run thus far in the NCAA Tournament. They overcame Louisiana in the first round and cruised to a victory. Then, the magic came. The Vols routed Duke in forty minutes of physicality and up-tempo basketball in the round of 32.
They advanced to the Sweet Sixteen and will play Thursday in Madison Square Garden. While they knew the date and destination, Tennessee still awaited an opponent. That was before the Florida Atlantic Owls outlasted No. 16 seed Fairleigh Dickinson, putting forth an excellent output to advance.
The two sides will meet in New York City in a few days. FAU has a lot of fans among viewers; they won the Conference-USA Tournament and looked to be one of the best mid-majors all season.
In the round of 32, Johnell Davis powered them to a win, logging 29 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists. They got steady contributions from the surrounding parts, even though they didn't shoot up to their season standard.
The Vols have been playing excellent defense in the tournament, locking down their first two opponents. It has been their calling card all season, and they will need it against the Owls on Thursday.
