Tennessee suffered a monumental loss against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Guard Zakai Zeigler went down with a non-contact injury, and it immediately appeared bleak for the beloved 5-9 star.

He was assisted off by two athletic trainers and was ruled out for the rest of the game. The university released a statement confirming that Zeigler tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the 2022-23 season. It brings an impressive, exciting season to an end, and the Volunteers must find some way to replicate his impact.

While the injury comes at a devastating point, Zeigler seems to be keeping in good spirits. He posted a message on Twitter assuring Tennessee fans he looks forward to watching the rest of the year and will be back and ready for the 2023 season.

Head coach Rick Barnes routinely praises Zeigler as one of the best players on the team. They needed a level head to lead, especially during SEC play. Tennessee knows exactly what Zeigler gives them each night.

He's one of the shortest players in America at 5-9 but doesn't let his stature get in the way. Zeigler is one of the best guards in the SEC and will be crucial next season.
