With quarterback Jake Merklinger and a pair of offensive line commits signing on in recent weeks for the Tennessee Volunteers, the 2024 recruiting class is beginning to take shape, with an established centerpiece of the class. While the Vols continue to add to that class, they also have tabs on their 2025 class. This weekend, Rocky Top will get a chance to make an impression on a possible 2025 centerpiece.

Caleb Cunningham is a Mississippi product that knows one thing on a football field; make plays. And he's been very successful at it early in his high school career. So good, in fact, that he has already earned a five-star ranking heading into his junior season; in his first two seasons, the Choctaw County athlete hauled in 59 passes for nearly 900 yards, on top of 10 touchdowns. As the No. 1 Mississippi prospect, and No. 2 wideout, many teams are already reaching out.

One of those teams is the Tennessee Volunteers, who are hosting Caleb on a visit this coming Friday, as announced by Cunningham on his Twitter. Cunningham is one of many five stars that the Vols are gunning for in the 2025 class, alongside guys like ATH Cameron Sparks. With the Orange and White game coming up on Saturday, this is the perfect weekend for Cunningham to stay in Knoxville and soak it all in.

The Vols offered Caleb at the end of this January, and since then, he has gathered offers from several other high-status programs, the likes of Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. Cunningham currently is not crystal balled anywhere. Josh Heupel and Co. have a chance to make a big impression on the elite pass catcher this weekend. As Heupel cements himself more and more, the recruiting buzz seems to grow with him.
