Top-20 Recruit Zion Grady Narrows Recruitment Ahead of Tennessee Visit

2025 four-star edge rusher Zion Grady trimmed his list down to 10 on Sunday, with the Tennessee Volunteers among the bunch.

Zion Grady is a top-20 player in the class of 2025, and on Sunday, the four-star edge released his top 10 schools via Twitter. This list includes Tennessee. Grady is a rising junior at Charles Henderson High School in Troy, Alabama, and he included both in-state powerhouses: Alabama and Auburn. From the SEC, he also included Georgia and Texas, which will be in the conference by the time he starts playing in college. To round out the list, he named Florida State, Michigan, Louisville, Oregon, and USC (California). Grady had 21 total offers before this announcement via Twitter.

Grady is a prototypical edge rusher. He stands 6-4 220 pounds with plenty of time to put on even more weight before he enters college, as he is just a rising junior. He possesses a great range of athletic ability, playing varsity basketball and junior varsity soccer in high school and playing on the edge and as a tight end on the gridiron. In 2022 as a sophomore, Grady had 106 total tackles in 14 games, including a whopping 35 tackles for a loss and a crazy total of 19 sacks. To add on, he blocked two field goals, forced two fumbles, and recovered three.

He's ranked as the top pass rusher in his class for a reason. He has a true nose for the quarterback. He often beats offensive linemen with his quickness but is not afraid to get physical. His get-off is incredible. Grady also has the speed to track down plays on the perimeter. Having an elite edge rusher makes a defense so much better at any level of football, and Zion Grady is surely a player that Tennessee, and any school, for that matter, would love to have on their team. It will be tough with so much great competition, especially given that he is from the state of Alabama, but another win against the Tide this year could go a long way.
