The best time of the year is here, folks. Postseason play is officially upon us in college baseball, as the Texas Longhorns end the regular season red hot and with plenty of momentum.

They are riding a five-game winning streak, including a sweep of the No. 6 West Virginia Mountaineers to end the regular season. Not only did they completely dominate the Mountaineers in all three games, but the sweep earned them a share of the Big 12 title.

Not only did they win a share of the conference championship, the 10th Big 12 title and 80th conference title in program history, but they enter the Big 12 Tournament as the No. 1 overall seed as a result.

Big 12 Tournament Bracket

Earning the No. 1 seed was a major win for the Longhorns as they now have the "easier" side of the bracket. Of course, anything can happen and they should not take the Jayhawks lightly, especially since they already took one game off them this season. That being said, this is the ideal side of the bracket to be on.

They avoid the two teams that handed them series losses in conference play in Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, and instead have three of the teams they beat in conference play on their side.

For a Longhorns team looking to continue building their résumé to host a regional, winning as many games in Arlington as possible is key. If they can keep their momentum rolling and make a deep run in the conference tournament then they may very well host a regional once again.
