No. 24 Texas Rallies, Defeats No. 17 Texas Tech 9-7 in Series Finale: Live Game Log
It has been a tale of two different teams so far for the No. 24 Texas Longhorns (8-6, 1-1) in their opening conference series against the No. 17 Texas Tech Red Raiders (11-3, 1-1).
Game one saw the Longhorns' offense explode in dominant fashion, including a pair of grand slams and three-run home runs each. Ultimately they produced a staggering 22 runs on 20 hits while limiting the Red Raiders' potent lineup to just eight runs. Giving up eight runs is not ideal but it hardly matters if you can put up 22.
Saturday, however, was an entirely different story as the bats were put on ice by Texas Tech's pitching staff. A day dominating the Red Raiders' pitching staff, the Longhorns' bats were limited to just two runs and five scattered hits across nine innings in the 7-2 loss.
Now they turn their attention Sunday afternoon's rubber game, looking to clinch the first conference series win of the season.
