Funeral services for Cedric Benson to be held Saturday

A Funeral Service and Visitation for Texas Football great Cedric Benson, who passed away in Austin last Saturday night, have been set.
The former Longhorn running back rushed for 1,000 yards in four straight season on the 40 Acres. He was a three-time all Big 12 selection and a consensus All American in 2014.
Benson had a successful NFL career, rushing for over 6,000 yards before retiring in 2012.
He passed away last Saturday, along with his passenger, when a motorcycle he was driving hit a van in Austin.
A Visitation will be held this Friday, August 23 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cook Walden Funeral Home (6100 North Lamar Blvd., Austin, Texas 78752).
Benson’s Funeral Service will be held this Saturday, August 24 at 11 a.m. at St. James Missionary Baptist Church (3417 E. Martin Luther King Blvd., Austin, Texas 78721).
