AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns officially signed 2024 St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) punter Michael Kern during the early signing period on Wednesday.
Kern received offers from Army, Eastern Kentucky, and Texas while making multiple unofficial visits to Power 5 schools like Kentucky, Duke and Boston College. Quite a unique list, but he's now officially a Longhorn.
Texas' special teams have shined this season en route to the College Football Playoff. Punter Ryan Sandborn, kicker Bert Auburn and returners Xavier Worthy and Keilan Robinson have made Texas a true three-way threat headed into the CFP.
