AUSTIN, Texas -- The Texas Longhorns are continuing their recent streak of adding to the offense through the 2024 recruiting class.

Texas snagged a commitment from 2024 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) running Jerrick Gibson on Saturday, who just made his official visit to the Forty Acres on Friday. The Longhorns also grabbed 2024 pledges from receiver Freddie Dubose and running back Christian Clark earlier this week.

Gibson, who is a four-star running back per 247Sports' rankings, chose the Longhorns over programs like Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Miami. He had originally been committed since July 2021 but de-committed in Feb. 2022.

He previously spoke with LonghornsCountry.com in July 2022 about his experiences in Austin.

"It was great," Gibson said. "Good vibes all across the facility, a lot of love from all the coaches. Got to bond with the coaches, got to see how it really is there and talk to the players a little bit and see how they're living there."

It's been a long recruiting journey for Gibson, with tons of twist and turns. But he's finally found his home in Austin.

He is now the sixth commitment overall for the Horns 2024 class.
