AUSTIN, Texas -- With the college football transfer portal window open again, another member of the Texas Longhorns has decided to leave mere hours before kickoff of the Orange-White Spring Game in Austin on Saturday.

Texas receiver Jaden Alexis has entered the portal, per reports from On3. He's now the fourth Longhorn to transfer this week, joining receiver Brenan Thompson, linebacker Trevell Johnson, and EDGE Derrick Brown.

Alexis arrived on campus in 2021 before redshirting. He was set to enter his third year on the Forty Acres this fall, but was going to be buried on the depth chart behind a deep group of receivers.

He committed to Texas in August 2020 as a four-star prospect out of Monarch High School in Pompano Beach, Fla. Alexis was a part of a 2021 Texas recruiting class that included guys like receiver Xavier Worthy, tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders, running back Jonathon Brooks, defensive lineman Byron Murphy II and offensive lineman Hayden Connor, among others.

However, Alexis only appeared in one game during his Texas career, taking the field in the season-opening win over Louisiana-Monroe last year.

The Longhorns will now rely on a talented receiver room that includes the likes of Worthy, Jordan Whittington, Isaiah Neyor, Johntay Cook II, and A.D. Mitchell.
