AUSTIN - The Texas Longhorns roster turnover has returned just days before the annual Orange-White Spring game next Saturday, with three players entering the NCAA Transfer Portal on Wednesday afternoon.

The first of those players was speedy wideout Brenan Thompson, who was a member of the 2022 class, and was falling in the depth chart thanks to incoming talent at the position.

Now, two more players have chosen to leave Austin via the portal, with linebackers Trevell Johnson and Derrick Brown entering shortly after Thompson, making it three losses for the Longhorns in a single day.

Johnson, who was also a member of the 2022 class with Thompson, came to Texas a three-star recruit out of Arlington Martin High School. He never saw the field for Texas in his freshman season.

Brown, yet another member of the 2022 class to hit the portal, came to the Horns from Texarkana Texas, and at one point, was one of the most outspoken recruiters for the Longhorns during that cycle. Like Johnson, Brown also did not see game action in 2022.

With spring football camp coming to a close, the Longhorns' more turnover is sure to follow - both outgoing and perhaps incoming, before it is all said and done.
