Texas Longhorns vs. TCU Horned Frogs: Live Updates, Highlights, Longhorns Defeat Horned Frogs 29-26

The Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs clash in Fort Worth on Saturday.

The No. 7 Texas Longhorns visit the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth on Saturday in what will be the final Big 12 meeting between the two in-state rivals for the foreseeable future.

Texas (8-1) is coming off a thrilling 33-30 overtime win over the Kansas State Wildcats. Longhorns quarterback Maalik Murphy made his second-career start in that game while also earning his second-career win, but he'll now hand the reins back to Quinn Ewers, who makes his return after a two-game absence.

Ewers injured his right shoulder in the fourth quarter of the 31-24 win over Houston on Oct. 21. However, he's now made a quicker return than expected and will look to get some slight revenge over TCU after last season's 17-10 loss to the Frogs in Austin.

Texas receiver Xavier Worthy admitted that the team still thinks about that loss and could use it as motivation on Saturday.

"It was tough," Worthy said Monday. "We still had hopes in front of us and I feel like we knew what was at stake that game. Us losing that game, I feel like it put a thought in our head. I feel like we still remember that. It's something that's sitting in the back of our head. We remember it."

Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers (3) throws a pass during the second half against the Texas Christian Horned Frogs at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.

The Longhorns will look to keep hold of their first-place tie in the Big 12 with the Oklahoma State Cowboys by securing a win over TCU on Saturday. Texas also still maintains strong College Football Playoff hopes, as a win would help get the team one step closer to that goal despite needing some outside help down the stretch of the season.
