Longhorns WR Adonai Mitchell Viewed As A 'Future No. 1' Ahead Of NFL Draft

The Texas Longhorns star receiver has done nothing but impress scouts during the pre-draft process.

It isn't often that an entire receiver corps is NFL-bound, and it is even more rare that all three will be going in the same draft, but that is the case for Texas and the 2024 NFL Draft.

Xavier Worthy is currently making the most headlines following his record 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, and rightfully so, but his running mate Adonai Mitchell is also generating buzz. The two formed one of the most dangerous duos in all of college football and were complimented by Jordan Whittington, but with draft season rolling around it is Worthy and Mitchell generating first-round chatter.

While Worthy has the hottest name right now, it is Mitchell who is being viewed as a future No. 1 receiver for one lucky NFL team.

At the NFL Combine, Mitchell excelled in everything he did, and his combination of speed and size will have teams yearning for his services. He has long been viewed as a late first-round pick, but his combine showing and eventual success at Texas' pro day has many confident that he can be the best receiver for an NFL team.

According to Bleacher Report's NFL Insider, Jordan Schultz, Mitchell has only helped his case during the pre-draft process thus far. Schultz even revealed that someone from an NFL team even went as far as to say "He’s [Mitchell] a future No. 1. Book it.”

In a recent mock draft by the 33rd Team's Marcus Mosher, Mitchell was projected to go with the No. 17 overall pick to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Like they did in college, he and Worthy are expected to terrorize defenses at the next level, and are expected to do so at the highest level.

In his lone season as a Longhorn, Mitchell racked up 55 catches for 845 yards and 11 scores.
