Texas WR Ryan Wingo Previews What Fans Should Expect From Cam Coleman

In this story:
The Texas Longhorns were as active as any program in this year's transfer portal cycle, bringing in the No. 3 class in college football.
Steve Sarkisian and company clearly recognized they didn't have the talent on offense to maximize or help out quarterback Arch Manning, and adjusted accordingly. The Longhorns brought in two of the top running backs in the portal in Hollywood Smothers and Raleek Brown, added five new offensive linemen and also brought in the No. 1 wide receiver in the portal in Cam Coleman.
While Texas still had a talented wide receiver group headlined by former five-star Ryan Wingo, the group left more to be desired. This is exactly where Coleman comes into the mix, as the former Auburn star racked up 56 catches for 708 yards and five touchdowns this past season, and is known for making amazing catches through contact.
Although some receivers may feel threatened by his addition, Wingo told the media on Thursday that he is excited to see what Coleman brings and expects to get more one-on-one chances because of his presence.

"(Coleman) is another great playmaker on the other side, so there's going to be more one-on-one matchups," Wingo told the media on Thursday. "It's going to be a good season and we're going to be able to showcase our abilities."
Although they are teammates now, Wingo's level of play may be elevated with Coleman in the fold. Wingo may have had an impressive line of 54 catches, 834 yards and seven touchdowns this past season, but he also had a fair share of crushing drops throughout the year.
Wingo led the team in drops with seven, with the next closest player coming in at four. Considering he was a highly-ranked recruit who Texas is undoubtedly paying millions for, it certainly was an uneasy season for many.
With that being said, Wingo is currently in the process of healing from a wrist injury, and having another offseason under his belt, where he is getting legitimate reps, may only help him improve. The Longhorns' offense wasn't bad by any means this past season, but with how much money they invested this offseason, it's hard to imagine a world where they don't have a top-10 unit in college football.
The Longhorns' spring game is set for April 18, but it's unclear which star players will participate at this time. That said, the buzz around Coleman and Wingo continues to grow.
